ALBEM Supply, install and maintain an overhead crane (bridge crane), Jib crane and Gantry crane. What type of crane do I need? It is very important to understand the types of lifting systems available and how they differ from each other. Spending a few minutes now discussing the needs of your application could save you thousands of dollars (not to mention the value of improved safety) in the future. However, customers should also give some thought to the following questions: 1. Lifting capacity 2. Lifting height 3. Working class (how many hours the crane will work in one working day?). 4. Working environment (temperature, humidity, elevation) 5- How many axes of hook movement I need (e.g., up/down, left/right, and forward/back) one, two or three. 6- If two axes how long runway? If three axes how long of runway and width? Below we provide some basic information about each type of crane, but the ALBEM sales team and engineers will be more than happy to assist you through the process of choosing the right lifting system.
With a monorail system, the hoist and trolley run on a single stationary beam. Because of their inherent speed and efficiency, monorail systems are an effective method of moving and positioning loads to specific locations. Provides two axis of hook motion (X and Y).
A bridge crane runs on an elevated runway system along the length of a factory and provides three axis of hook motion (X, Y, and Z). Types of Bridge Cranes: • Top Running Bridge Crane. • Underhung Bridge Crane. • Single girder. • Double girder.
This type of crane consists of a pivoting head and boom assembly which carries a hoist and trolley unit. The pivoting head is supported either by a floor-mounted mast providing up to 360 degree.
Gantry cranes are usually considered when there is a reason not to incorporate an overhead runway system. These are typically used for an outdoor application or below an existing overhead bridge crane system. Gantries can run on track, rail, or directly on the floor, depending on required usage, length of travel and load capacities.
